President of the Liberal Democrats visits Focsa site in Great Bowden

9.00.16pm GMT Tue 15th Dec 2009

Ros Scott and local Liberal Democrats meet concerned Great Bowden residents

Baroness Ros Scott, President of the Liberal Democrats, has met residents in Great Bowden to hear at first hand the concerns they have about the Focsa site which has opened on the edge of the village. Along with councillors, Sarah Hill and Barbara Johnson, Harborough Lib Dem Parliamentary spokesman Zuffar Haq and local Lib Dem Chairman Phil Knowles accompanied the party's President on the trip.

Ros Scott told this website: "Residents are justifiably concerned at potential environmental impact, increased traffic and an array of other problems. All of this against the backcloth of questions about the monitoring of the contract and the continuing delay in the submission of a fully completed planning application. It is very worrying.''
