Great Bowden Focsa depot: Liberal Democrats get the facts for residents

11.10.03pm GMT Mon 16th Nov 2009

Just days after the public meeting in Great Bowden, we have secured the draft tender documents from the District Council.

At the meeting it was clear that many of the residents' concerns and comments centred on the contract, its conditions and requirements. Having the documentation in hand will ensure that any questions will be based upon the facts rather than speculation.

Phil Knowles, who chaired the meeting, had promised the meeting he would make every effort to secure the information and would try to gain an extension to the time limit for comment. He says

"Thanks to the agreement of the Chief Executive of the District Council we have an extension to 25 November and we have now received documents from the Deputy Chief Executive. I am in discussion with Councillors Sarah Hill and Barbara Johnson, along with residents and other groups, to instigate a study of the document, and - through Sarah and Barbara - ensure that questions are put to the Council and responses received well before the new deadline.''
