Want a postal vote? Act now!

After every election we meet people who say they wanted to vote but didn't - often because something cropped up unexpectedly on polling day.

With a close contest expected in the June County elections, your vote could decide just who wins Harborough. The county council has important powers and spends a lot of your money.

Voting or the Liberal Democrats sends the Conservatives a strong message.

To make sure you get your chance to vote, contact Harborough District Council, who are running the election, on 01858 828282, before 19 May to get your postal vote application form in time.

Any elector can apply for a postal vote, not just those who will be away on polling day.

When you apply you need to supply your signature and date of birth. These will be asked for again when you send your vote in. This is to help cut voting fraud.

If you want to have your ballot paper sent somewhere instead of your home address, you will have to give a reason.
